More Lord of the Rings pictures--Matamata

We found the place where they filmed much of the movie "The Lord of The Rings" outside of Hamilton. Really neat to see for us, since we and our children have enjoyed these movies. Of coarse the tour guides know so many of the lines in the movie. Calvin would have known the lines too I guess. But they could tell you everything there is to know about the movie. Neat stories and very beautiful. We wondered how they got The Shire to be so beautiful and now realize it IS that beautiful.

So many rainbows there. It rains often (at least while we were there) and then clears off and nice for the rest of the day. They allowed us to go into the hobbit homes and take some pictures. Here we are inside poking our heads out of the windows.

below, the sheep just graze. This place was found from an airplane and is actually a sheep farm. They paid the farmer to use his farm for about 2 years. Can't remember the actual amount of time.
